Speaking in the European Parliament, Gerard Batten MEP the UKIP leader lived up to his reputation as a bulldog.
Firstly, he took aim at Theresa May whom he said is sinking lower “into tragedy and farce”.
He whether the Brexit omnishambles has been an “elaborate conspiracy” between the Prime Minister and the EU or down. Either way, she has allowed Jean Claude-Juncker to “bring Britain to its knees” along with the “quislings and traitors in Parliament”.
The Tories, Mr Batten said, have planned to betray Brexit from the start.
“Many of the 17.4 million people”, who voted for Brexit, now believe their vote is “pointless”, Mr Batten continued. However, Britain is still “nominally a democracy” and the vote remains still the “most powerful weapon ordinary people have”, he argued.
Tomorrow, the people of Newport West go to the polls. Although Labour are expected to win, the state of Brexit could lead to UKIP taking second place from the Conservatives.
