PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has announced he’s melting the Tories hated Benefit Freeze – boosting the incomes of some of the poorest 10m Brits.
The landmark move ends years of Tory austerity and marks Boris as a man of both the poor and the rich – smashing Labours claim that the Tories will only make the rich richer and the poor poorer, under Boris – we will all be richer.
The Sun reported that Brits on Universal Credit and jobseekers’ allowance will see their benefits package rise by over 1.7%.
Charities estimated that thousands were £200 a year worse off because of the continued freeze.
Senior Tories have been urging ministers to end the freeze for months.
The move is set to cost £5billion as Boris Johnson prepares for an election spending spree.
Labour has attacked the move as “cynically planned” despite the boost for some of its usual voters.
