Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to vent his fury at Mexico’s inability to move the caravan of migrants back to their countries of origin and said that if action is not taken then he will consider closing the USA’s southern border with Mexico permanently:
Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries. Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the Border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!

A group of the migrants attempted to storm the US Border by running towards the fence near the city of Tijuana. Groups of the migrants splintered off from a demonstration which was peaceful at the beginning but the situation soon deteriorated as, reportedly encouraged by the demonstrations leaders, the groups made a dash for the fence. Although some cleared a first fence once they made an attempt on the second, spiked fence, then tear gas was used by the US side to disperse the protest which was rapidly becoming a riot with US Customs and Border Protection saying that it’s personnel were pelted with rocks and other projectiles:
Today, several migrants threw projectiles at the agents in San Diego. Border Patrol agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents’ safety. Several agents were hit by the projectiles. The situation is evolving and a statement is forthcoming.

Mexico responded by saying that anyone found to have taken part in these “violent events” would be immediately deported.
