THE BEEFEATERS have newly designed uniforms in honor of King Charles’s Coronation with CIIIR emblazoned on the chest.
The Beefeaters are officially known as The Yeomen Warders of His Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, and Members of the Sovereign’s Body Guard of the Yeoman Guard Extraordinary”.

They have all served 22 years in the armed forces and will have attained the rank of warrant officer. They were traditionally all male but the first female Beefeater came onboard in 2007.
The origin of the name Beefeater is murky - there are several theories including they could eat as much beef as they wanted serving the King.

It was hoped that the old uniforms with the late Queen’s insignia could be recycled with the new insignia.
Historic Royal Palaces decided that would be impossible since patches and wear would be all too obvious. Instead, they spent millions of pounds to replace the worn out uniforms.
Each warder has two day to day uniforms with a summer and winter version and a special state occasion uniform.
The King will be coronated on Saturday, May 6th - Politicalite will have full coverage.
GOD SAVE THE KING!
