JOE Lycett is set to be joined by a Spice Girl and top notch celebrities for a Christmas special of his hit talk show Late Night Lycett on Thursday night at 10pm on Channel 4, Politicalite exclusively can reveal.
He will be joined by celebrity guests including Aisling Bea, Guz Khan, Mel B, Self Esteem as Joe returns to his hometown of Birmingham for a fabulous, fun-filled festive edition of Late Night Lycett.

Joe celebrates the most wonderful time of the year with a host of famous faces, including Mel B, Aisling Bea, Self Esteem and Guz Khan, alongside Joe’s aunties, Linda Biscuits and Hardev from the local shop.

Expect Joe’s usual mischievous capers as he and his guests get up to snow good. Who will sleigh and who will end up on the naughty list? There’s myrrh where that came from, featuring a surprise visit from a very special celebrity secret Santa.
A show source told Politicalite: “Joe turns Father Christmas himself when he gives away a mystery gift to one lucky member of the audience. Yule be sorry if you miss it!”
NEW KING OF CHAT

JOE Lycett’s chat show became a surprise hit for Channel 4 earlier in 2023 - with his brutal camp comedy and political takedowns gaining a whole new audience who were laughing hysterically at the bizarre Brummie funny man.
The show launched on Channel 4 in March 2023 and Joe was joined by guests Dame Joanna Lumley, Alan Carr, Alison Hammond and Katherine Ryan.

The show show attracted a peak audience of 1.4m (10% share) with audiences watching at home and in the studio interacting with Joe’s aunties, Pauline and Margaret, Brummie local legends and LGBTQ+ heroes.

It was praised for championing local communities and local talent who had just graduated from Birmingham media courses and brought celebrities to his home town.
We reported in May: “Channel 4 knows the future of media is outside of London, it’s why it’s own daytime show comes live from Leeds, and it’s why they launched their biggest ever talk show Late Night Lycett in Birmingham, giving jobs to some of the most countries most disadvantaged media graduates.”
Late Night Lycett Christmas Special to air on Thursday 21st December on Channel 4 at 10:00pm and will be available on Channel 4 on Demand Friday.
